Youth must build tomorrow's environmentally friendly Bangladesh: Adviser Rizwana
"Our youth must be as environmentally conscious as Singapore. Innovative thinking and actions from the youth are needed to address the environmental problems inherited from the past," says the adviser of environment, forest and climate change
The youth must build tomorrow's environmentally friendly Bangladesh, said Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources Syeda Rizwana Hasan.
"You must lead in addressing the environmental challenges we are leaving behind. A green and sustainable future must be ensured through proper policy formulation and implementation," she told the youth at the inauguration ceremony of "The Green Energy Olympiad 2025 (GEO 2025)" held at the Bangladesh Military Museum in Bijoy Sarani, Dhaka, today (19 April).
The adviser said, "Fossil fuel users are not interested in preventing plastic pollution. Our youth must be as environmentally conscious as Singapore. Innovative thinking and actions from the youth are needed to address the environmental problems inherited from the past."

"Young people must lead the nation towards proper development through self-sacrifice," she added.
Rizwana called upon the youth to promote different development paradigms, different lifestyles, and different philosophies. She said, "The winners of this competition will lead in preventing climate change and building an environmentally friendly green world in the future."
The event was chaired by Monower Mostafa, network adviser of the Coastal Livelihood and Environmental Action Network (Clean) and executive member of the Bangladesh Working Group on Ecology and Development (BWGED).
Distinguished guests present at the event included Noor Ahmed, additional secretary of the Power Division; Ashanur Rahman, chief economist and country business manager of City Bank; Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, chief executive officer of Direct Renewable Energy Limited; Abil Bin Amin, country manager of Ethical Trade International (ETI), Bangladesh; and other dignitaries.
