Bangladeshi rock band SOULS is set to commemorate its 50th anniversary with a special unplugged concert in Chattogram.

Titled "Mastercard Presents SOULS Unplugged: 50 Years of Timeless Music," the exclusive event will take place on 2 May at the Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View, offering fans an intimate evening of nostalgia, artistry, and emotion.

The announcement was made at a press conference held today (April 16) at the event venue.

Speaking at the event, Manzuma Murshed, proprietor of M&M Business Communications—organisers of the concert—said, "With Mastercard as the Title Partner, this milestone celebration marks more than just an anniversary; it is a moment in history."

Tickets for the event will officially go on sale on 17 April 2025, through https://mastercardssleommerz.com/souls50. Fans can also stay updated via the official Facebook pages of SOULS, M&M Business Communications, and Mastercard.

A total of 450 seats will be available, with each ticket priced at Tk7,000, including dinner.

As part of a special promotion, Mastercard Debit, Credit, and Prepaid cardholders will receive a flat 20% discount. Physical tickets can be purchased from the reception desk at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View.

Joining the press conference virtually, SOULS lead guitarist and vocalist Partha Barua expressed his regret at not being able to attend in person due to traffic disruptions in Dhaka. "My heart is always in Chattogram," he said.

When questioned about the affordability of the ticket price, especially for students, Barua noted that the concert is a premium audio-visual production, featuring 15 cameras and slated for later broadcast on NTV. "Considering the venue and dinner inclusion, the pricing is reasonable. We regularly perform at educational institutions for lower fees, but due to the current political climate, we opted for a smaller-scale, exclusive show," he added.

Other speakers at the event included Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager of Mastercard; Brigadier General Abu Saleh Mohammad Ali, CEO of Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View; SOULS members Meer Masum (keyboards) and Maruf Hasan Real (bass guitar); Wahid Malek, Managing Editor of Dainik Azadi; Tajdin Hasan, Chief Business Officer of The Daily Star; Wahida Sharmin, Managing Director of FIT Elegance; Fayez Ahmed, General Manager of Monno Ceramic Industries Ltd; Rafiqul Islam, CEO of Sonali Life Insurance Ltd; and other dignitaries.

Reflecting on the band's legacy, the speakers emphasized that SOULS has been a trailblazer in shaping the Bangladeshi rock music landscape for five decades. "From timeless classics to contemporary hits, their music has touched generations. This unplugged concert is not just a performance—it is a tribute to a journey that continues to inspire," they said.
