BUFT welcomes new students with fresher’s reception

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) hosted a lively and engaging Orientation Program on April 15, 2025, to welcome the newly admitted students of the Spring Semester 2025.

The event occurred at BUFT's Permanent Campus Auditorium in Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka. The programme was presided over by Professor Dr Engineer. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT. Mr Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUFT Trust, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his welcome remarks, Mr. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar of BUFT, warmly greeted the first-year students and encouraged them to make the most of their academic journey at BUFT by embracing its challenges and opportunities.

Distinguished academic leaders such as Professor Dr  Alamgir Hossain, Treasurer and Dean Faculty of Fashion Studies; Distinguished Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Faculty of Arts and Social Science; Professor Dr Sirajul Karim Choudhury, Dean, Faculty of Engineering Studies; Professor Dr Abdul Jalil, Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Textile Engineering; and Professor Dr Engineer Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Faculty of Apparel Studies Dean, addressed the students with inspiring speeches. Additionally, one student from the newly admitted and two from the current shared their thoughts and aspirations. The program concluded with a vibrant Cultural Performance by the students, showcasing their talents and spirit.

The event was also attended by the Controller of Examinations, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Director of Public Relations, Chairpersons of various departments, Director of BIFT, Director of P&D, Head of Logistics, Librarian, Proctor, IT Manager, alongside faculty members, administrative officials, new students, and their guardians.
