Nagorik Committee member in Fatulla expelled over breaching organisational discipline

Dilshad Afrin, a member of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee's (JANAC) Fatulla unit, has been expelled allegedly for violating organisational discipline.
The expulsion order was issued in a letter dated 8 April, signed by JANAC acting member secretary Akhtar Hossain.
The letter stated that Afrin's recent actions breached the rules and principles of Jatiya Nagorik Committee.
The decision to expel her, effective immediately, was made at the request of convener Nasiruddin Patwari and member secretary Akhtar Hossain, in order to uphold organisational discipline, said the letter.
"Afrin was expelled on 8 April after an investigation confirmed several allegations, including fund embezzlement from the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation," Abdullah Al Amin, former joint member secretary of JANAC's Narayanganj unit, told The Business Standard.
He also noted that despite not holding an official role in the July Smriti Foundation, Afrin independently handled financial matters of the foundation, a matter Nagorik Committee was unaware of.
