Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed has said the new tariffs imposed by the United States will not be difficult for the country's economy to manage.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat today (6 April), the first working day after the Eid holidays.
"The impact on the economy due to the new tariffs imposed by the United States will not be difficult to manage. The government has taken the initiative to negotiate with the US administration regarding this. We are hopeful that something good will come out of it," he said.

The adviser also said commodity prices had remained stable during Ramadan and Eid, providing relief to the public.
"The country's economic situation is improving, and the reserve has also increased," he added.
So far, Bangladeshi goods have faced an average 15% tariff in the US. On 2 April, the Trump administration announced an additional 37% tariff.
Exporters have expressed concern that this move may severely impact product exports to the US, particularly in the readymade garments sector. The United States accounts for 18% of Bangladesh's total merchandise exports.
