Police have arrested his 17-year-old son, Rifat, in connection with the incident.

Khaledur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Sadar police station, said, "Dodul Hossain forbade his son from playing mobile games and took away his phone. Enraged, Rifat attacked his father from behind with a sharp weapon during prayers. Locals rushed him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment."

Dr Tarek Junayed, an emergency department doctor at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, confirmed that the victim had sustained deep stab wounds, leading to excessive blood loss and death.

OC Khaledur Rahman said that the body has been sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy, and while no case has been filed yet, an investigation is ongoing.
