Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued a two-and-a-half-month-old baby kidnapped from Thakurgaon and arrested four abductors from Mulaid area under Sreepur Police Station in Gazipur district today (13 March).

"Earlier, minor boy named Sayan, son of Md Shimul Islam of village Mujbolli in Vulli area of Thakurgaon, was abducted from Thakurgaon 250-bed General Hospital while he was under treatment there on 10 March at 6:30pm," said a press release issued by RAB.

The victim's father filed a case in this connection with Thakurgaon Sadar police station on the same day.

The incident created a sensation in the area and came to the notice of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 of Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13.

Alongside the police, CPC-1 of Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13 enforced intelligence activities and started a shadow investigation into the case to nab the absconding accused abductor.

On a tip off, an operational team of the CPC-1 of Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13 jointly with the Crime Prevention Specialised Company of RAB-1 at Gazipur conducted a raid at Mulaid area under Sreepur Police Station in Gazipur and arrested four kidnappers and rescued the victim at 1:45am today.

The detainees are: Sonali Akhter Shirin, 20, wife of Md Raju Kabiraj and Raju Kabiraj, 22, of village Nultola Barabari in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha, Md Liton Mia, 35, son of Md Akkas Ali and Lovely Begum, 39, wife of Md Liton Mia of village Chakpara in Kamalakanda upazila of Netrokona.

For taking further legal action against the arrested abductors, the elite force handed them over to Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station.

The rescued baby was handed over to his parents.
