Nearly 5 lakh children to get Vitamin A Plus capsules in Bogura
The campaign will be conducted under the auspices of the Public Health and Nutrition Institute and National Nutrition Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Planning with the assistance of UNICEF
Around 5.6 lakh children of the district aged up to 59 months will be fed vitamin 'A' Plus capsules under the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign on Saturday (15 March).
Vitamin A capsules will be fed in 2,867 centres of the district, said Civil Surgeon Dr AKM Mofakharul Islam.
The campaign will be conducted under the auspices of the Public Health and Nutrition Institute and National Nutrition Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Planning with the assistance of UNICEF.
Through the Vitamin 'A' Plus campaign, children aged 6 to 11 months will be given blue coloured Vitamin 'A' capsules and children aged 12 to 59 months will be given one red coloured Vitamin 'A' capsule.
In the district, 60,970 children aged 6 to 11 months will be given blue colored Vitamin 'A' Plus capsules and 4,45,398 children aged 12 to 59 months will be given red colored Vitamin 'A' Plus capsules.
The civil surgeon especially called upon the parents to bring their kids to the outreach centres with a full stomach to feed them Vitamin A capsule as immunisation with an empty stomach might cause nausea.
