Police hotline receives 103 complaints, takes prompt action against violence towards women
The police headquarters requested all not to make irrelevant complaints on the hotline numbers

Police received over 100 complaints hours after introducing hotlines for taking swift action against women violence, Bangladesh Police said in a statement today (11 March).
"Police Headquarters launched the hotline from 4pm on Monday, aimed at taking prompt action to prevent violence against women. Until 8am today, 103 complaints have so far been received," said the statement.
In cases where immediate action is required, the relevant police station officers have immediately been sent to the spot to take quick action, it said.
Of the 103 complaints, 62 are irrelevant such as asking for someone's telephone number and asking for the name and mobile number of a doctor in a private hospital, the statement added.
The police headquarters requested all not to make irrelevant complaints on the hotline numbers - 01320002001, 01320002002 and 0132000222.
