Fake BNP office peon arrested over barging into Ashulia Police Station, misbehaving with OC
After inquiring at the BNP party office, it was confirmed that Sumon had never been a peon or held any position there, nor was he involved with any of the party leaders

Police have arrested a man who went viral after a video surfaced of him barging into the Ashulia Police Station and misbehaving with the officer-in-charge.
The arrestee Sumon Mia had identified himself as the peon of a BNP office, and referred to the OC as "Chhatra League OC".
A team from the Shahrasti Police Station arrested Sumon, a resident of Ashulia's Basaid area, late last night around 12:45am from Chandpur's Shahrasti Upazila.
Confirming the arrest, the police station's OC Mohammad Abul Basar said, "Following directives from higher authorities, Sumon was arrested and, after completing the legal process, he was handed over to the Ashulia Police Station."
Ashulia Police Station released a statement in this regard saying after interrogation, it was revealed that Sumon's claim of being a peon of the BNP party office was false.
He had previously worked as a labour leader in a garment factory in the Ashulia area during the tenure of the previous government.
"Currently, he has been deceiving people by pretending to be a peon from the BNP central office, extorting unethical advantages, and conspiring with certain groups to create instability in the garment area."
After inquiring at the BNP party office, it was confirmed that Sumon had never been a peon or held any position there, nor was he involved with any of the party leaders, said the statement.
Sumon's false and fraudulent actions are being investigated and further legal action is underway, the Ashulia police said, adding that it is also being investigated who or what group might have instigated him to create such a disturbance in the OC's office.
"After presenting him in court, a remand plea will be sought."
