Shakib and Tamim to face off in Asian Legends League
The much-anticipated clash between the Asian Stars and the Bangla Tigers is set for 12 March, offering a rare encounter between Shakib and Tamim.

Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal are set to face each other in the upcoming Asian Legends League, a veterans' cricket tournament starting on 10 March in Rajasthan, India. The five-team competition will conclude with the final on 18 March, with all matches held at the Miraj International Stadium.
Shakib, who remains active in professional cricket despite not being in the national team, will play for the Asian Stars. Meanwhile, Tamim, who retired from international cricket in January, will represent the Bangla Tigers. The Bangla Tigers will be captained by Mohammad Ashraful and feature players like Tushar Imran, Nadif Chowdhury, Dhiman Ghosh, and Jubair Hossain Likhon.
Initially, Shakib was expected to join the Bangla Tigers but ultimately signed with the Asian Stars. The exact reason for this switch remains unknown. His Asian Stars teammates include Dilshan Munaweera, Kedar Jadhav, Saurabh Tiwary, Hamid Hassan, Seekkuge Prasanna, and Shehan Jayasuriya.
