Shakib, who remains active in professional cricket despite not being in the national team, will play for the Asian Stars. Meanwhile, Tamim, who retired from international cricket in January, will represent the Bangla Tigers. The Bangla Tigers will be captained by Mohammad Ashraful and feature players like Tushar Imran, Nadif Chowdhury, Dhiman Ghosh, and Jubair Hossain Likhon.

Initially, Shakib was expected to join the Bangla Tigers but ultimately signed with the Asian Stars. The exact reason for this switch remains unknown. His Asian Stars teammates include Dilshan Munaweera, Kedar Jadhav, Saurabh Tiwary, Hamid Hassan, Seekkuge Prasanna, and Shehan Jayasuriya.
