The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has decided to introduce one-way traffic to some crossings in the capital city for nine days from 28 Feb to 8 March aimed at easing the public sufferings for nagging traffic jam.

"Traffic jams occur every morning and afternoon during peak hours at Abul Hotel and Madina Hotel Crossing, Malibagh Railgate Crossing and Khilgaon Community Center Crossing in the Rampura area in the capital. In order to reduce the traffic congestion and mitigate the suffering of the people in these areas, it has been decided to make those roads one-way from 28 February to 8 March," it said.

The statement signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali said that one-way traffic will be made on the road Abul Hotel Crossing to Madina Hotel Crossing to Khilgaon Community Center Crossing (so that vehicles will enter both lanes from Abul Hotel Crossing and go only eastwards from Madina Hotel Crossing to Khilgaon Community Center Crossing).
