Students block roads to protest ‘motivated’ case against Kushtia Govt College teachers
Students in Kushtia have staged protests, including human chains and road blockades, demanding the withdrawal of a case filed against 13 teachers of Kushtia Government College, which they claim is a "conspiracy."
The demonstrations, held today (24 February), disrupted traffic and caused significant public inconvenience.
The students began their protests with a procession and road blockade in front of the college at 11am. They then marched through various intersections, eventually blocking the Majampur intersection for approximately two hours.

The students later announced a further protest on the college campus for tomorrow morning and cleared the road around 3pm.
The protests were sparked by a case filed by a young man named Sabuj, accusing 13 teachers of "attempted murder" during the Anit-Discrimination Student Movement.
The case, filed with Kushtia Model Police Station on 11 February, names a total of 21 individuals, including the former principal and vice-principal.
However, the agitating students of the college have claimed that this case is a conspiracy. In protest of this and demanding the unconditional withdrawal of the case, they have held protest marches, human chains and rallies.
The college administration has stated that they are "searching for those involved in this heinous conspiracy" and will take "strict action" if evidence of involvement is found.
Kushtia Government College Principal Molla Md Ruhul Amin said, "It is understood from the motive of the case that there is direct instigation of a group here. This reprehensible act was committed in the interests of a malicious group due to the lack of sense and shortsightedness of the police officer concerned."
He added that the college authorities are demanding a solution to this in the interest of protecting the image of the college and the pleasant learning environment.
At the same time, the principal demanded exemplary punishment against those involved in such "reprehensible" acts.
Regarding the case, Kushtia Superintendent of Police (SP) Mizanur Rahman said they were investigating and trying to solve the matter.
"No one will be harassed in a false case," he said.
