The 58th Bishwa Ijtema concluded today (16 February) with Akheri Munajat conducted by Maulana Yusuf Bin Saad, son of Maulana Saad Kandhlawi.
The munajat lasted from 12:37pm to 1:07pm. A total of 1,584 devotees from 64 countries along with thousands of people from different parts of Bangladesh took part in the Akheri Munajat.
Mohammad Sayem, media coordinator of the Nizamuddin Markaz (Saad followers), said, "Maulana Yusuf started his speech at 9:30am and conducted the Akheri Munajat right after finishing the speech."
The Akheri Munajat was broadcast on local television channels and various social media pages.
Although the highways adjoining the Ijtema Ground were open during the Akheri Munajat, the Tongi-Kamarpara Road was blocked as devotees sat there and took part in the special prayer.
The law enforcers remained cautious due to the drone incident during the first phase of the Bishwa Ijtema and the threat of attack on the Ijtema during the first day of the second phase of the gathering.
According to the government's decision, the first phase of Bishwa Ijtema was conducted by the followers of Maulana Jubayer from 31 January to 5 February.
The second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema was carried out by the followers of Maulana Saad from 14 February to 16 February.
