In a gesture of solidarity and goodwill, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser to the interim government Prof Muhammad Yunus have extended their warm wishes to the Hindu community on the auspicious occasion of Saraswati Puja.

In his message, President Shahabuddin, said Bangladesh is a shining example of communal harmony.

"We have a glorious and ancient tradition. From time immemorial, the people of this country have been practicing their respective religious rites and rituals through mutual harmony and coexistence. To uphold this glorious tradition, every citizen must contribute from their respective positions. Along with establishing equality and peace in society, the knowledge we have gained must be used for the welfare and service of humanity," he said.

CA Yunus said an interim government was formed through an unprecedented uprising by students, workers, and the masses in August last year.

It is working to improve the condition of all people, regardless of nationality, religion, caste, or communit,y and to ensure equal rights for everyone.

"On the occasion of worshiping Goddess Saraswati, I call upon all members of the Hindu community to dedicate themselves to acquiring knowledge and contribute to the country's development and progress," he said.

Meanwhile, Dhaka is buzzing with festive arrangements, hosting multiple Puja ceremonies at various locations, embracing the spirit of communal harmony and cultural heritage.
