192 new Covid-19 cases in Chattogram, two more deaths

In the last 24 hours, 192 new cases of Covid -19 have been identified in Chattogram.

At the same time, two people have died of Covid-19 and five recovered from the viral infection. 

With this, the total number of coronavirus infections in Chattogram stands at 11,385, according to a report published by the District Civil Surgeon's Office on Sunday.

Of these, 7,953 are from the city and 3,432 are from different upazilas. The total death count reaches 214 and a total of 1,318 people have recovered.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, said 1,099 samples were tested and 192 people were identified with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Of the infected people, 158 are from the city and 34 live in different upazilas.

On Saturday, 45 out of 146 samples tested in Chattogram University lab, and 25 out of 227 samples tested in Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) came out positive.

On the other hand, 14 out of 236 samples tested in Chattogram Medical College Lab, and 10 out of 122 samples tested in Chattogram Veterinary University were detected positive for coronavirus.

Also, one out of 18 samples tested in Cox's Bazar Medical College, 39 out of 175 samples tested in Imperial Hospital, and 58 out of 175 samples tested in the Chevron Lab came out positive. 

Among the new cases identified on Friday, one is from Satkania, three from Banshkhali, one from Rangunia, five from Raozan, three from Fatikchhari, 13 from Hathazari, five from Mirsarai and three are from Sitakunda.
