Rahmat Ullah, the Police Superintendent of Cox's Bazar, confirmed this information on Tuesday evening.

He said, "Since the incident, law enforcement agencies, including the police, have been actively working to apprehend those involved in the murder. Following a tip-off, police learned that some of the suspects, including the woman, were staying in Moulvibazar district."

"Acting on this information, a team from the district police has been stationed in Moulvibazar since Saturday, conducting operations. Late on Monday night, they successfully arrested three individuals, including the woman who had accompanied former councillor Golam Rabbani Tipu to Cox's Bazar. The firearm used in the murder was also recovered from them," he added.

The Superintendent of Police said, "All three arrested were directly involved in the murder and they are being brought to Cox's Bazar from Moulvibazar and details will be given to the media at a press conference on Wednesday."

Golam Rabbani Tipu, 54, was shot dead on Thursday evening on the sidewalk in front of Hotel Seagull, adjacent to Cox's Bazar Sea beach.

In connection with the incident, another former councillor of Khulna City Corporation, Sheikh Hasan Iftekhar Salu, and Tipu's friend, Mezbah Uddin Bhutto, have been arrested and are currently in jail. Although remand was sought for their interrogation, a hearing date has not yet been set.
