President Mohammed Shahabuddin today (14 January) urged the Republic of Kosovo to import top-quality Readymade (RMG) and pharmaceutical products from Bangladesh at an affordable price.

He came up with the call as new ambassador of Kosovo to Bangladesh Lulzim Pllana presented his credentials to him (President) at Bangabhaban.

Receiving the credentials from the ambassador, the head of the state put emphasis on the frequent visit-exchange and interactions between the chambers of commerce and industries of the two countries to promote the trade and investment.

He recalled the contributions of Bangladesh Peacekeepers in Kosovo Peacekeeping Mission (UNMIK) to maintain peace and stability in Kosovo.

President urges Kuwait to recruit more Bangladeshi manpower

On Ukraine crisis, he said Bangladesh is deeply concerned about the war in Ukraine, urging all parties involved in the conflict to find a solution through political dialogue to put an end to the war.

The president thanked the Kosovo government for opening its Diplomatic Mission in Dhaka and said since then Bangladesh and Kosovo have been enjoying excellent bilateral relations, Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam told the BSS.

This representation is instrumental in expanding the bilateral ties between the two brotherly countries, he stated.

President Shahabuddin urged the Republic of Kosova to recruit skilled workers in various sectors from Bangladesh.

During the meeting, the ambassador sought cooperation of the President in doing his assignments here.

Kosovo government is keen to provide more opportunities for Bangladeshi students for their study there, he added.

Earlier, as part of the state ceremony, the ambassador was given 'guard of honour' by the President Guard Regiment (PGR).

Secretaries concerned were present on the occasion.
