EPB, FPCCI hold meeting on bilateral trade development

A high-level delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), led by its President Atique Ikram Sheikh, met with Md Anwar Hossain, vice chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), to discuss strategies for boosting bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
The meeting addressed ways to reduce Bangladesh's trade deficit with Pakistan and highlighted challenges impeding trade cooperation, according to a press release.
The key sectors both sides discussed for bilateral trade growth included agriculture and agro-products, manmade fibres, leather and leather goods, edible oils, Halal meat and garments, jute and jute products, frozen fish, and home textiles.
Anwar invited Pakistan to participate more prominently in the next Dhaka International Trade Fair.
FPCCI and EPB also explored the possibility of trade delegations participating in iconic trade fairs in both countries to expand bilateral trade ties.
FPCCI reaffirmed its commitment to fostering cordial business ties, with both sides expressing optimism about the role of such dialogues in enhancing bilateral trade relations.
Senior officials from EPB and FPCCI were present during the meeting.
