Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (10 January) forecasted mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over the north, north-east,west, south and southwest regions of the country.

"Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi,Pabna, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Jashore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Gopalganjand Moulvibazar and it may continue at some places," according to theforecast valid for the next 24 hours begins from 9am this morning.

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Western parts of Bangladesh andadjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over the South Bay, extending its troughto the North Bay.

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Light to Moderate fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning.

Night temperature may rise slightly over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Day temperature may rise slightly over the country.

Country's maximum temperature yesterday (9 January) was recorded 28.7 degree Celsius atTeknaf and today's minimum temperature 07.3 degree Celsius was recorded at Tetulia.

The sun sets at 05.29 pm today and rises at 06.43 am tomorrow in the capital.
