BCB director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim considering resignation over Faruque Ahmed's behaviour

Just five months into his role as a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director, Nazmul Abedeen Fahim is reportedly considering resigning due to alleged mistreatment by BCB president Faruque Ahmed.

Fahim expressed his disappointment in an interview with Jamuna Television, revealing a tense and uncooperative working environment.

The incident reportedly occurred during the Dhaka phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

In the presence of sports ministry officials, Faruque Ahmed allegedly humiliated Fahim, questioning his conduct and sarcastically stating, "Are you acting funny? Do you want to be the BCB president? Come, let me make you one."

The veteran coach described the incident as deeply disheartening.

Speaking to Jamuna Television, Fahim said, "I don't want to repeat the BCB president's exact words, but they left me extremely disappointed. I can't understand why he made such comments in front of so many people. It's unclear how much respect the BCB president is willing to show to directors. We are both new to the board, and it is vital to collaborate. Such remarks are highly inappropriate in this context."

Both Fahim and Faruque Ahmed joined the BCB in August, following political changes in the country, entering through the Ministry of Sports.

Over the past months, they have been among the most vocal members of the board.

However, their relationship has deteriorated, with Fahim accusing Faruque of undermining the independence of board directors and disregarding their input.

Fahim hinted that he might resign if the situation does not improve.

He explained: "Sometimes, I feel it would be better to work outside the board. From the outside, I can contribute more effectively and engage in discussions that are not possible from within. If I am to remain on the board, I must be allowed to work. Otherwise, stepping away seems like the better option."
