Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Adviser Nahid Islam has asked the cooperation of secretaries to prevent "unethical activities" by persons using his name or claiming to be his relatives to seek favours in various offices.

Earlier on 24 December 2024, Nahid sent a letter to secretaries of various ministries and departments, a copy of which has been seen by The Business Standard today (2 January).

In the letter, Nahid, also the information and broadcasting adviser, wrote, "Recently, some individuals have been using my name or claiming to be my relatives to seek favours in different offices, to fulfil their personal interests and gain illegal benefits, which is entirely unethical. This is tarnishing my reputation.

"Moreover, many are submitting applications in various offices claiming that I have recommended them, by forging or falsifying my signature, which I have already come to know about," he added.

He further said if anyone tries to use his name or claim to be his relative in order to get something done or make a request, it should not be considered under any circumstances.

Nahid further wrote, "If such requests are made in your institution or any of the affiliated offices/agencies, or if any application is submitted with a forged or falsified signature of mine, I request you to immediately inform my personal secretary RHM Alaol Kabir.

"Please circulate this message across all your departments and agencies and provide necessary instructions to this end."
