Youths in upazilas who are already conducting businesses and making innovations possible can take part in the Dhaka International Trade Fair, said Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.

"Select two-three youths through competition in each upazila and send them to the fair," said Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus while inaugurating the 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair today (1 January).

He said there might be the question of what the youths in the upazilas can do, but they are excelling in all fields including agriculture, cottage industry, ICT, and technology.

"Not only nationally they are doing business internationally. Staying at home, youths are even selling softwares internationally," added the chief adviser.

Dhaka Trade Fair kicks off today

He said, "The youths are our guide, they guide the nation, the world. Those who will come here [trade fair] will not only be the best in the country, they will become world famous. Youths from other countries will come to learn from their endeavours, they will seek joint ventures."

He urged the country's business community and entrepreneurs to come forward to strengthen its export base with more investment in the services sector to boost overall exports to the competitive global market.

"We need to enhance our exports. I urge all businesspeople to come forward to invest more in the services sector in addition to products to boost our exports," he said.

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus today inaugurated the 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin, among others, was present on the occasion.

Later, the chief adviser visited different stalls at the fair and enjoyed cultural functions. The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 9:00pm (until 10:00pm on weekends) throughout the month.
