Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Convener Hasnat Abdullah today (1 December) thanked the BNP for taking a 'bold and loud stance' on Indian interference in Bangladesh's affairs.

"Thanks to BNP for such a bold and loud stand," Hasnat wrote in a post from his verified Facebook profile this evening, referring to a statement by BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi published earlier today.

In a press briefing at BNP's Nayapaltan central office today, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi said the Indian government is unable to cope with Sheikh Hasina's fall.

Indian govt can’t accept Hasina’s fall: Rizvi

"India's ruling BJP and its allies are also engaged in spreading propaganda. India's behaviour is interference in Bangladesh's internal affairs and a threat to independence and sovereignty," he said.

Rizvi said peace and comfort returned to the country after democracy's enemy Sheikh Hasina fled to India. The burden of a decade and a half has been removed from the shoulders of the people.

"While everyone, regardless of race, religion, and caste, is breathing a sigh of relief, the pain and discomfort of the Indian government, which has been living peacefully amid the bloody violence of the mafia league in Bangladesh for a decade and a half, has become evident," he added.
