Car in Hasnat, Sarjis' motorcade met with accident while returning from Ctg

A car of the motorcade of Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam, leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, met with an accident this evening while they were on their way to Dhaka after offering prayers at the grave of lawyer Saiful Islam in Chattogram.
A truck rammed the car at around 7:30pm at the Haji Road intersection on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway, said Hannan Masud, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Hannan posted on Facebook, "In the initial investigation, the driver claimed to have unloaded goods from Mymensingh to Cox's Bazar, but no information about the unloading of goods has been found. There are precedents of Indian forces killing prominent figures in Bangladesh in the past."

"The leaders were returning from Cox's Bazar. Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam were in one car, while the Chattogram coordinators were in another. The car carrying the Chattogram coordinators was damaged in the accident," Umama Fatema, a spokesperson for the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, told Prothom Alo.
Meanwhile, in another Facebook post over the incident, Arif Sohel, member secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said both Hasnat and Sarjis were safe.
The leaders and members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement brought out a protest march from TSC's Raju Memorial Sculpture around 10:45pm to condemn "the attempt on the lives of Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam".
