The National Board of Revenue has made it mandatory for businessmen and traders to submit  certificates, licenses, and permits (CLPs) issued by 19 regulatory authorities through the Bangladesh Single Window (BSW) system for customs clearance of all import and export consignments from tomorrow (1 July).

In a press release issued today (30 June), the NBR urged all stakeholders involved in import-export trade to fully cooperate in implementing the BSW system, aimed at making trade processes more transparent, efficient, and technology-driven.

According to the directive, from tomorrow (1 July), any import-export application lacking digitally submitted CLPs (Certificates, Licenses and Permits) through the BSW platform will not be accepted.

Manual or paper-based CLPs will no longer be valid for customs procedures from this date, the release said.

The BSW system, implemented under an NBR-led project, serves as a centralised online platform where importers and exporters can apply for all required CLPs online and receive them automatically.

To use the system, users must first register using their Business Identification Number (BIN) on the BSW website: bswnbr.gov.bd.

The NBR highlighted several benefits of using the BSW system, including simultaneous online processing of required CLPs by all relevant agencies through a common platform, reduced human interaction, enhancing transparency and accountability, lower time and cost for customs procedures and improved confidence among domestic and foreign businesses, encouraging greater investment and trade.

As of today (30 June), the BSW system has automatically issued over 389,015 CLPs.

Of these, 85.97% were issued in under one hour and 94.63% in less than a day.

The 19 regulatory authorities currently integrated into the BSW system include DGDA, EPB, DoEX, BNACWC, BEZA, BEPZA, DoE, BSTI, BAERA, BAEC, CAAB, BTRC, DOF, DLS, PQW, BIDA, BGMEA, BKMEA, and CCI&E.

For assistance, stakeholders can contact the BSW hotline at 16139 or visit the official website at www.bswnbr.gov.bd.
