ISPR chief denounces rumours surrounding Milestone plane crash casualties
In a message to journalists today (23 July), the ISPR director acknowledged that many are unknowingly believing unverified information about the death toll.
The Director of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant Colonel Sami-ul-Doula Chowdhury, has strongly refuted widespread rumours circulating on social media regarding the number of casualties in the tragic crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara.
In a message to journalists today (23 July), the ISPR director acknowledged that many are unknowingly believing unverified information about the death toll.
He clarified that the Bangladesh Army has no intention or attempt to conceal any facts about the children or the victims involved.
"Immediately after the incident, without any prior instructions, the Army responded with its highest capacity, just as it always does," said Lt Col Sami-ul-Doula. "Neither I nor the ISPR team has left the site, and we have remained actively involved since."
He further asserted that the military is open to scrutiny and welcomes transparency. "Any media outlet is free to investigate the matter, interview anyone, including army personnel, or visit any relevant location. We are prepared to provide full cooperation," he stated.
Reiterating the military's commitment to truth and public accountability, the ISPR chief urged citizens to refrain from spreading or believing unverified claims and assured that all possible support will be extended to those seeking clarity on the situation
