The Programme Officer will support Oxfam's Just Energy Transition (JET) movement in Bangladesh, contributing to the global clean energy campaign and national-level policy advocacy. The role involves coordinating project activities, engaging in multi-stakeholder dialogues, and building networks with government, civil society, private sector actors (notably RMG industries and international brands), climate financing bodies, and academic institutions. As part of the PMU team, the Programme Officer will ensure effective implementation of projects that advance civic space, promote locally led climate adaptation, and protect grower communities. Key responsibilities include project coordination, budget and compliance support, partner communication, reporting, event organisation, and fostering inclusive, rights-based approaches. This is a short-term position up to February 2026.

An ideal candidate for the role will also have:
- A postgraduate degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental/Disaster Management, or a related field
- At least three years' experience in project implementation, coordination, and stakeholder engagement in the development or climate sector, with exposure to Just Energy Transition
- Experience working with workers' rights frameworks and engaging with RMG sector workers or similar labour-intensive industries
- Knowledge of climate finance, community energy planning, and labour-inclusive policy processes
- Familiarity with the role of workers' unions, labour rights organisations, and CSOs in advancing fair and inclusive energy transition

Salary & benefits: As per Oxfam National D2 pay band, starting annual salary for this role is BDT 1,033,995.00 (13 months), with other benefits including medical coverage for self, spouse, and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, leave, life insurance, mobile allowance, and other admissible benefits as per organisational policy.
