Position: Professor (Mathematics)

BAIUST invites applications from dynamic, qualified, and committed individuals for the position of Professor in the Department of Science and Humanities. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, academic leadership, and service to the university and the broader academic community.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate mathematics courses according to the approved curriculum, covering foundational and advanced areas, including Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Numerical Methods, Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling, and Applied Mathematics
• Design and deliver engaging, research-informed instruction using modern pedagogical approaches, fostering analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Mentor students, supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, and guide participation in mathematics-related competitions, seminars, workshops, and career development activities
• Conduct high-quality research in pure and applied mathematics, publishing in reputed peer-reviewed journals and conferences nationally and internationally
• Ensure teaching content reflects current mathematical research, applications in science and technology, and global advancements in mathematics education
• Provide academic leadership within the department, support faculty development, and contribute to strategic initiatives including curriculum enhancement and policy formulation
• Participate in Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) activities, programme review, self-assessment, and continuous academic quality improvement
• Contribute to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curricula design, implementation, and enhancement, aligning with global academic and professional standards
• Engage in curriculum development, academic audits, and innovative course content creation connecting mathematics with interdisciplinary applications
• Establish and maintain collaborations with academic institutions, research organisations, and industries to provide students with research, internship, and workshop opportunities
• Represent the university at national and international academic forums, conferences, seminars, and research exchange programmes
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaborations, community outreach, and mathematics awareness programmes
• Stay updated on emerging areas such as data science, machine learning, computational mathematics, mathematical biology, and financial mathematics, integrating developments into teaching, research, and innovation
• Serve on academic and administrative committees and contribute to institutional governance and decision-making
• Undertake additional duties assigned by university authority in pursuit of academic excellence

Academic Qualification, Experience & Other Requirements

• Ph.D. in Mathematics from a reputed institution with a minimum of two First Class/Division/A Grade results, including one in Undergraduate/Graduate programme
• Minimum 12 years of university-level teaching experience, including at least 5 years as an Associate Professor in a reputed institution
• At least 15 publications, including 7 publications as an Associate Professor

Salary & Benefits
