SNV Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) invites applications for the position of Private Sector Coordinator (1 position) under a national contract, based in Khulna with frequent travel to project cities.

SNV is a mission-driven global development partner working across Africa and Asia, with expertise in gender equality, social inclusion, climate adaptation, and strong institutions. In Bangladesh, SNV works on sustainable urban water cycles and sanitation initiatives in collaboration with local authorities and civil society partners.
Programme Background:
The position is linked to two SNV projects:

Transitioning to Sustainable Urban Water Cycles (SUWC) in Bangladesh (2022–2027), focusing on improving sanitation, solid waste, and drainage management in 12 cities to benefit 1.4 million people.

WASH Systems for Health Programme (WS4H) (2023–2027), addressing rural water supply and small-town sanitation, with a focus on gender-responsive and climate-resilient service provision.
Position Purpose:
The Private Sector Coordinator will support the services component of SUWC and WS4H projects, focusing on private sector and entrepreneurship development, business model development for sanitation and solid waste management, and integration with governance arrangements. Gender equality and social inclusion are core priorities.
Key Responsibilities:

Strengthen stakeholder capacity in delivering safe and affordable sanitation and solid waste services.

Provide technical support to Local Government Institutions (LGIs) and private operators, including startups, on business models, financial planning, compliance, and market promotion.

Support LGIs in tendering for outsourcing services and designing PPPs.

Conduct market assessments, feasibility studies, and value chain analyses for sanitation and solid waste management.

Prepare investment documentation, financial models, and scenario analyses.

Support monitoring, replication of good practices, and content development for external communications.

Facilitate field visits for stakeholders and integrate financial/business aspects into other project components.

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
Educational Requirements:
-
Minimum Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
-
At least 10 years of overall experience in development work, with 6+ years in entrepreneurship or private sector development.

Strong interest in business solutions for development, BoP models, and PPPs, with proven technical, financial, and social expertise.

Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder initiatives.

Creative, practical, systematic, and flexible under pressure.

Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla.

Ability to work independently and lead teams with remote supervision.
Duty Station: Khulna (with frequent travel to project cities)
Contract Duration: 2 years, with possibility of extension
Expected Joining: As soon as possible
Working Hours: Full time (minimum 40 hours/week)
Reporting To: Business Advisor
Salary & Benefits:

Gross salary package: BDT 130,149 – 160,863/month (based on experience and competencies)
