Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national, non-profit development organisation operating since 1967. Its Central Office is based in Dhaka with eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Sylhet. CB currently implements 86 projects across 206 upazilas, focusing on the following eight goals: Social Welfare and Service of Love for Vulnerable Communities, Ecological Conservation, Climate Justice, and Sustainable Food Systems, Humanitarian Response and Disaster Management, Education, Skills Development, and Employment Creation, Health Care, Nutrition, and Education, Development of Indigenous Peoples, Integral Human Development, Institutional Development and Sustainability.
Caritas Bangladesh is now seeking a qualified candidate for its Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar Office for immediate appointment, as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh.
Position: MEAL Manager (BMZ and Caritas Germany-funded projects)
Number of positions: 1 (one)
Job location: Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar
Age limit: Maximum 45 years (may be relaxed for highly experienced candidates)
Salary: BDT 110,000 (consolidated)
Bonus: As per organisational policy

Educational Qualification
-
Master's degree in Statistics or Economics, preferably with a professional degree from a recognised public university.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum 5 years' working experience in a similar role and managerial position in any NGO/INGO (women are strongly encouraged to apply).
- Excellent data management skills (collection, entry, analysis, and visualisation) using Microsoft Excel, Access, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with software such as Kobo, CommCare, SPSS, STATA etc. will be an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to detect and report inconsistencies.
- Knowledge of local language(s) will be preferred.
- Good command of both English and Bangla.
- Proficiency in MS Office in both English and Bangla.
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop methodologies and tools related to monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, and reporting.
- Guide and supervise Monitoring Officers to prepare monitoring plans, design tools, conduct surveys, and analyse and share data with management.
- Promote beneficiary accountability practices and provide training and coaching on feedback systems and good practices.
- Collaborate with donors, management, and project staff to ensure information is collected, analysed, and used for improved project implementation.
- Suggest strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of project activities, addressing bottlenecks and challenges.
- Conduct baseline, mid-term, and end-line surveys and share analysed data, success stories, and learning documents with management.
- Perform regular assessments of the existing MEAL system, supervise MEAL staff, and ensure performance appraisals are timely completed.
- Build staff capacity in MEAL, including assessment, design, monitoring, and evaluation methodologies.
- Develop a responsive MEAL system that meets both management and donor requirements.
- Facilitate research to strengthen contextual understanding, identify opportunities and vulnerabilities, and enhance programming.
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the organisation.
