Employees of a state cooperative sell onions at lower price only to fear for their safety
Employees at a state cooperative company in India's Bihar have been wearing helmets while selling onions in fear of their safety.
People stood in long lines from as early as 4am outside the outlets to buy onions, according to a recent NDTV report.
"We are concerned about our security. Yesterday, people started throwing stones and many were injured. The administration has not arranged for security, therefore we are wearing the helmets to be on the safe side," Rohit Kumar, an employee told the news agency ANI.

Onion prices are currently selling in the state's markets at Rs80-100, while the state Cooperative has been selling them at Rs35 per kilogram, triggering the zeal of many buyers willing to go great lengths to get the kitchen essential produce.
