The Strait of Hormuz, between Oman and Iran, is a vital global trade artery, carrying about a quarter of seaborne oil along with major volumes of liquefied natural gas and fertilisers. Amid the US-Israel war on Iran, daily ship transits through the strait dropped 95% to an average of 6 vessels in March, down from an average of 129 vessels the previous month.
