Saudi Arabia surges ahead as Bangladesh’s top remittance source

Saudi Arabia has surged ahead as Bangladesh's top remittance source in the current fiscal year (FY2025-26), with inflows jumping 43.7% to $1.2 billion in the first quarter (Q1), up from $859 million a year earlier.
By contrast, the United States, which was last year's overall leader with $4.7 billion for the entire FY2024-25, has slipped behind in the Q1 FY26 rankings, even as overall remittances rose 16% year-on-year to $7.6 billion during the July-September period of FY26.
