Bangladesh Bank introduced agent banking in 2013 as a safe alternative banking service delivery channel which is now offered by 30 banks. At the end of the June 2026 quarter, agent banking deposit balances amounted to Tk51,129 crore, marking a 1.12% increase from Tk50,563 crore in the previous quarter.
