Renowned 80s band "Renaissance" has ended their 17 years hiatus with a new single track.

The single titled "Akash amar jochona amar" has been written by Zulfiqer Russell. Renaissance member Pilu Khan has composed and given voice to the song, reports Channel I online.

Shahriar Polok created the music video of the song. It will be released under the Dhruba Music Station on 26 March to celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence.

Renaissance member Naquib Khan explained the reason for the delay of their song.

"Since all of us are busy with our jobs and other professions. We simply couldn't take the time to work on it soon. In order to give the best to the audience, each and every member of Renaissance tried to input much effort and time for the album," he said.

"Everybody in our band is conscious about maintaining the quality of our song. If we don't like a song then we simply do not publish it. This is the reason why we are publishing this song after 17 years. We will ensure that audience still believes in us with the release of this song," Naquib Khan added.

Renaissance last album was released in 2004 and was titled "Ekush Shotokey Renaissance". In 2018 they were supposed to release their new album but due to some technical difficulties, the album was not released.

Nakib Khan formed the band in 1985 after leaving another band, 'Souls'. Their first album was released in 1988 creating a huge buzz among music lovers at the time.

Renaissance gained nationwide popularity with songs such as "Hridoy kadamati," "Bhalo lage," and "Accha keno manushgulo amon hoy."
