Prateek Kuhad is back with a new rendition of Cold/Mess

After several versions and covers on YouTube, recently, Prateek Kuhad has released yet another rendition of one of our most favorite songs, Cold/Mess. This time we are blessed to listen to this song with the soothing music of a piano played by the maestro, Prateek Kuhad himself, and again it did not fail to blow away our minds. 

As expected, this version of the song starts slower than the original one, but as soon as you get to hear Prateek utter the first few words, "When I feel cold…" it will instantly take you back to the time when you first fell in love with the song and used to listen to this on loop. It feels magical one more time. As I progressed with the song, I missed the rhythmic beat and that signature guitar tune of the original version, to be honest. But Prateek has not failed to give us another beautiful piece of music in the name of the song.

The song starts to increase the pace as you will move each step forward and sink you deep into the words. Prateek's relieving voice will just make you connect more and more with each line as you keep listening to the song. It will take you back to places depending on your relationship with the song. As you listen to the words - 

"I wish I could leave you my love, but my heart is a mess," 

...it can definitely take you back to your happy place as well as can make you relive some strings you used to share with someone. The song can work in both ways, and that's the beauty of it. 

The latter middle part of the song includes solo piano music, which will give the piece a touch worthy of listening to through your headphones. I have always been a fan of solo piano tunes, and this is no different. As you nearly reach the ending, Prateek Kuhad gives an innovative unplugged touch that just shows the profound link between the creator and his song.  

It gives off a light and serene vibe in comparison to the original one. Though I miss the lofi vibe of the original song and, of course, the fantastic music video, in my opinion, the music video that accompanies this song is a better fit for this version. Even if this rendition is just another version of Cold/Mess, both the original one and this one are a masterpiece in their own way. Not to mention the acoustic version as well.

No matter which version of the song you like better, it will still make your head sing the song for a while after you listen to it. And for some people, 

"My days they begin with your name, and nights end with your breathe" 

...where the 'you' will be replaced by this song.
