Kanye West drops out of 2020 presidential race

Kanye West has dropped out of the 2020 presidential election less than two weeks after announcing his presidential bid.

According to Steve Kramer, a west campaign strategist, Kanye is in the process of cancelling his campaign, according to reports by Independent.

In an interview with the intelligencer, Kramer said, "he's out". He also revealed that after amassing a 180-strong campaign team in Florida, the rapper decided to back out for good.

West was unable to collect 132,781 signatures by Wednesday (15 July) to be eligible to run in Florida.

Kramer added that, "I have nothing good or bad to say about Kanye... Any candidate running for president for the first time goes through these hiccups."

The reports of his withdrawal comes right after recent polls suggested that he was polling at only 2%.

After his 4th of July announcement, West attempted to get himself on the ballot as a third party candidate.

Steve Kramer however, did not specify the reasons of withdrawal. As per Kramer's statements, an announcement cancelling the presidential bid is expected soon.
