Presenter Srabonno Towhida sent some black and white photos on WhatsApp.

And then she texted: "A few days ago Nagarbaul James took these photos of mine. How am I looking?"

She called before I could answer the text. She sounded very excited.

"James is not only a great singer but also a great photographer. I am proud that a legend like him took my photos," she said.

Srabonno's star has been rising in recent years. She is known as a presenter on various TV channels, especially on cricket shows. She also appears as a presenter on various corporate shows. Outside of media work, she is a doctor at Dhaka Medical College.

Srabonno narrated the story of her beginning in the media sector. She went to Channel-24 for an audition in 2013. She auditioned for two programmes on the same day. After receiving the green signal, she started presenting a lifestyle programme. After the success of that programme, she started presenting a live show every Friday. That's when Srabonno came to the limelight.

At the time, Gazi TV was looking for a presenter for a cricket show. They called Srabonno. At first, she was asked if she understood cricket. Srabonno answered in the affirmative as she is a fan of cricket. She enjoyed the game regularly. She used to play cricket as a child.

"I am lucky. I have become popular in a short time because of the cricket show. Everyone liked it. Many heroines are not as popular as me. I am not an actress in dramas or movies. But I am more popular than them. I am also doing my duty as a doctor. All in all, I am happy with my life."

The show titled Cricket Mania on Gazi TV was the turning point of Srabonno's career. That's what kept her going, introduced her to a larger audience and made her popular.

"I am involved in two professions. I have tried everything that is necessary to keep myself fit. I even take care of my throat to keep my voice clean and practice pronunciation. I think a man or woman can do many things if he or she wants to. Everything must be done by maintaining a balance."

She has also appeared in four or five television dramas. She said she will continue acting.

The reason she is so successful in so many things is that she grew up in a cultural environment. While in school and college, she participated in debate, dance, songs and even acting competitions. She found success at these competitions. She used to practice these while studying in medical college. She performed in different college events. That is what gave her confidence.

She was visible on the TV screen every day last Ramadan as she presented a program on iftar. She also presented a programme on IPL on Gazi TV. She has presented seven consecutive Eid programmes on Desh TV.

Srabonno said, "Now, if you want, you can take up hosting as a profession. But you have to work hard at it. First of all, you have to have a good IQ. You must have the ability to understand quickly and control everything. Your pronunciation must be good. Glamour is also important."

When we asked whether she has any plans to appear in movies, she answered, "I have already received many offers for movies. There have also been offers for some big-budget movies. The truth is I will act in movies. I will act in at least one movie for my fans. That can happen anytime."

"I got an offer to be the heroine of Shakib Khan before they chose Bubli in that role. The director also spoke to me. Shakib Khan also wanted to talk. But it did not progress further because of my studies and my family's stance. But I promise I will give you some big news soon," said Srabonno.
