Duronto TV to air ‘Botol Bhoot’ to celebrate Humayun Ahmed’s birthday

Duronto TV will air the telefilm, Botol Bhoot, on the occasion of renowned author Humayun Ahmed's 72nd birth anniversary.

The telefilm directed by Meher Afroz Shawon will be broadcasted on Duronto TV on 13 November, Friday, at 3:00 pm, says a press release.

"Botol Bhoot" is derived from Humayun Ahmed's short story and the telefilm revolves around a naughty boy named Humayun and his mischievous adventures with a ghost who lives in a bottle.

"Botol Bhoot" stars a wonderful cast including actors such as Mamunur Rashid, Jhuna Chowdhury, Abul Kalam Azad, Abdullah Rana, Khalilur Rahman Kaderi, Wasek, Shahnaz Shumi, Afroza Begum, Matiur Rahman Mati, Md. Ibrahim, Prinon, Joyet, Neel, Zarif, Aninda, Nirjon, Anon, Dhurbo, Jihad, Sayeri, Joyosri and Tahjib.  

Humayun Ahmed, son of late Foyzur Rahman Ahmed and Ayesha Foyez, was born in Kutubpur of Mymensingh district on 13 November, 1948.

He won the Bangla Academy Award and the Ekushey Padak award for his contribution in the field of Bengali literature.

Humayun Ahmed,  in the early 1990s emerged as a filmmaker and made a total of eight films, each of which was based on his own novels. He received six Bangladesh National Film Awards in different categories for the films Daruchini Dwip, Aguner Poroshmoni and Ghetuputra Kamola.

The legendary author breathed his last on 19 July, 2012 at a hospital in New York, USA.
