The creator of the Child's Play franchise, Don Mancini, announced on Twitter that shooting on Chucky began on April 1 and that the show will air this fall on the USA Network and Syfy. Following actor Devon Sawa's tweet about his first day with the killer doll, which many fans mistook for an April Fool's joke, Mancini came forward with the details.

Sawa posted a promotional image from Chucky with the caption: "Day one for me on this show with the little fella." Since it was April Fool's Day, fans were confused about its authenticity. Then a tweet from Mancini itself confirmed the news is real and the killer doll will soon be back in our lives.

This is not only a confirmation that Chucky indeed began filming today, but it also gives us a release window for the new series.

On Chucky, Sawa will play an unnamed new character, but there will also be a lot of familiar faces and voices. Brad Dourif will reprise his role as the killer doll, while his daughter, Fiona Dourif, will take on the role of Nica Pierce. Jennifer Tilly will reprise her role as Tiffany Valentine, Chucky's bride, and Zackary Arthur, Teo Brione, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Björgvin Arnarso will also appear on the show of Chucky.

The Child's Play franchise has created eight films, the most recent of which is the reboot Child's Play, which was released in 2019. However, by taking Chucky to tv, we will be able to see even more of this frightening toy every week! Chucky will be haunting us this fall, according to Mancini, when the series premieres on the USA Network and Syfy.
