Visa Asia Pacific delegation meets BB governor, discusses digital payment expansion, security

A high-level Visa delegation led by its Asia Pacific President Stephen Karpin met Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman today (12 August) to discuss expanding the country's digital payment system and strengthening payment security.
The meeting also covered various issues of mutual interest, according to Bangladesh Bank.
Deputy Governors Dr Md Kabir Ahmed and Md Sarwar Hossain, along with senior officials from the central bank's Payment Systems Department, attended the meeting.
Yesterday, the Visa Asia-Pacific president expressed the company's interest in expanding its investment and business operations in Bangladesh during a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Karpin said Bangladesh had significant potential for Visa to work in digital financial services, technology and innovation.
He also expressed interest in using artificial intelligence to make the country's banking and digital payment systems more secure, convenient and faster.
