Pakistan has announced the launch of a "Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor," coinciding with the visit of its Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, to Dhaka.
"The project envisages grant of 500 scholarships to Bangladeshi students for pursuing higher studies in Pakistan during the next five years," according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, issued today (24 August).
A quarter of these scholarships will be awarded in the field of medicine, it stated.
In addition, Pakistan will arrange training programmes for 100 Bangladeshi civil servants during the same period.
