Dignified repatriation of Rohingyas remains only durable solution: Shama Obaed
The issues were discussed when a delegation from MSF, led by International President Dr Javid Abdelmoneim, met the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam today (19 August) reiterated that the "safe, voluntary and dignified" repatriation of the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs) to their homeland in Rakhine State remains the only durable solution to the crisis.
She sought Médecins Sans Frontières'(MSF's) continued support in keeping the Rohingya situation on the international humanitarian agenda.
The issues were discussed when a delegation from MSF, led by International President Dr Javid Abdelmoneim, met the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation briefed the State Minister on MSF's activities within the Rohingya camps, including outpatient and emergency care, WASH-related services, maternal health, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health services - a significant share of which also reaches the host community, said the Ministry.
The State Minister appreciated MSF's medical humanitarian services in the Rohingya camps and host communities in Cox's Bazar.
