Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain held a bilateral meeting with Bakhtiyor Saidov, minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan today (26 September), on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week in New York.
During the talks, they signed an agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic passports between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan, reads a press release.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, higher education, and connectivity, while exploring opportunities for Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education in Uzbek universities, alongside prospects for exporting semi-skilled and skilled manpower from Bangladesh to Uzbekistan.
They further exchanged views on collaboration in multilateral platforms. The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding friendship and growing engagement between the two countries.
