Bangladesh provides $1m aid to flood-hit Nepal
The assistance will support relief, recovery and humanitarian efforts following devastating floods and mudslides in northern Nepal.
Bangladesh has provided $1 million (Tk12.3 crore) to Nepal to support relief, recovery and humanitarian efforts following devastating floods and mudslides in the country's northern region.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir conveyed the assistance today (3 September) to Nepal's Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari at State Guest House Padma, reads a press release.
He handed over a letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman addressed to his Nepali counterpart Balendra Shah, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The contribution was made to the Government of Nepal Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.
Earlier on 1 September, Humayun Kabir signed a condolence book at the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka following the disaster.
The Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad also adopted a condolence motion on 27 August over the tragedy.
