Deepal’s grand entry: EVs, fireworks, and a rocking comeback

On February 28, 2025, Deepal, a subsidiary of Changan Automobile, officially entered the Bangladeshi market by launching two electric vehicles (EVs): the S07 crossover and the L07 liftback. The event, held at Purbachal in Dhaka, marked a significant milestone in Bangladesh's journey towards sustainable transportation.

Deepal made its second appearance at the exact venue where harsh climate conditions forced a waterpark situation during its opening debut last week. The Honda Club brought back their Accords and CR-Vs along with the Civics from HONDA Civic Users Of Bangladesh. In addition, other automotive brands under Rancon Motors Limited such as Changan Automobile joined the event with their entire local vehicle collection.

It wasn't just about the people who purchased vehicles from them. Reputed automotive clubs such as the Toyota Crown Club of Bangladesh were present as well, arriving with more than half a dozen Crown vehicles from various generations. This turned out to be one of the most elegant sections of the show.

Then there was Super Tuner, the country's largest automotive group of exotic vehicle owners. Their display cars presented a wider selection of vehicle choices featuring everything between classic Japanese tuner cars like an AE92 Trueno to exotic German vehicles such as Mercedes CLA45s.

Even the EVO-STI group showed up with their rally-bred Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions and Subaru STIs. In total, the venue housed about sixty vehicles.

As dusk settled, Deepal commenced the ceremony—this time without any weather-related disruptions. Following a brief introduction to the brand, DHS Motors CEO Imran-Zaman Khan took the stage, emphasizing the advantages of EVs over traditional petrol cars in Bangladesh. Moments later, two Deepal S07 crossovers—one in striking orange, the other in bold green—rolled onto the stage, setting the scene for a dazzling fireworks display that gave the evening a fitting crescendo. An appreciation award ceremony concluded the formalities, making way for dinner.

But the night was far from over. Artcell took center stage, delivering a high-energy rock performance that electrified the crowd. As the music faded, attendees got behind the wheel, seizing the chance to test drive Deepal's EVs—the S07 and L07—bringing the event to a thrilling close.
