Handmade bangles to match your Baishakh outfit
Started in 2024, local brand Girly Mart has quickly gained popularity for its handcrafted bangles

Colourful bangles paired with Baishakh attire are nothing short of a staple in a woman's festive ensemble.
While metal and glass bangles still dominate the scene, this year you might want to try something different—handmade, fabric-wrapped bangles customised to match your outfit.
Started in 2024, local brand Girly Mart has quickly gained popularity for its handcrafted bangles. Afifa Afroze, the founder, makes each piece from scratch with care and creativity. Afifa is Dhaka based housewife and mother of two, who started this venture from her passion for bangles and arts and crafts.

These bangles are not only innovative and stylish, but also incredibly versatile. While they complement traditional outfits like shari and salwar kameez, they pair just as beautifully with western or fusion wear.
The process of making these bangles is simple but demands patience and a keen eye for colour. Afifa uses plastic bangles of varying widths as the base, wraps them in colourful fabric, and enhances them with embellishments. Her designs often feature stonework, pearls, thread, mirrors, kundan stones, jori, and even tiny bells like those found in anklets.
At Girly Mart, bangles are available in all standard sizes, starting from 2.4 (2.25 inches diameter) to 2.10 (2.62 inches diameter). You can buy them as single pieces or in sets, with prices ranging from Tk70 to Tk110, depending on the level of customisation.
"The best part is that these bangles are fully customisable to match any outfit," Afifa shared.

"Since they are handmade, it is best to store them wrapped in soft cloth or tissue to preserve the embellishments."
For this Baishakh, Girly Mart is offering an extensive range of collections in the classic red and white palette.
