A season of fear: Dengue tightens its deadly grip

Experts had warned of a severe season, yet critics argue that the government's response has fallen short, lacking the sustained measures needed to curb the crisis.
As of yesterday (19 September), dengue has claimed 167 lives and infected 40,709 people across the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Currently, 2,016 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals across the country.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.
