Bachelors degrees are always a good investment and help employees secure jobs with better salaries. Most employers are on the lookout for individuals with a bachelor's degree with experience than those with multiple degrees but no professional field experience. However, that does not invalidate a master's degree but highlights the importance of an undergraduate degree and work experience in the respective field.

While picking the right degree in the US, multiple factors need to be considered: its demand and need on an ongoing basis. Some fields will never run out of demand, and those are the ones that the College Consensus recommends

Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering
Career: Software Developer

The bachelor of science in software engineering (B.SE.) prepares students for the world of tech. Computers are a vital part of today's society, and a degree in Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering teaches its students how to design applications from scratch. This degree consists of a lot of mathematics and other subjects like computer architecture and designing databases. The demand for this degree is on the rise, and the number of projected jobs in this field is estimated to be around 316,000.

Doctor of Medicine (MD)
Career: Physician

Now more than ever, we recognise the importance of healthcare workers. They are one of the strongest pillars of our society and a degree in medicine will secure a graduate a challenging yet stable job for a lifetime. Although demanding, it is quite strenuous, and the reported number of projected jobs is only 18,500. Fortunately, once the graduate has crossed the maze of obstacles, they are free to choose a field of their choice and dedicate their lives to a good cause.

Doctor of Dental Surgery (Dds) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM)
Career: Dentist

For an individual to practice dentistry, they must receive a degree in Dental Medicine (DDM) or Dental Surgery (DDS). Slightly different, but both of these degrees have similar structure and requirements. Upon graduating with a bachelor's degree, the student then moves onto a four-year dental school. And lastly, one must sit for a regional board examination to receive the license to practice. The projected jobs in this field round up to 3,700.

Bachelor of Science, Health Care Administration
Career: Health Care Management

Going along with the healthcare trend, high up on the list is Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration (BSHA). Along with hardworking physicians, a strong administration is needed to guide and handle the healthcare industry's business side. The graduates in this field start rather low on the scale of employment, but there is plenty of room to grow and move upwards with the right display of dedication and qualifications. The number of projected jobs with a degree in BSHA is estimated to be around 133,200.

Master of Science and Nursing (MSN)
Career: Nurse Practitioner

With doctors and administration out of the way, now it is time to acknowledge the extremely significant yet often forgotten roles of nurses in the medical community. With the degree in the Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) combined with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Physician Assistant (PA), one opens up the pathway to various careers in medicine. Nursing school can lead to a managerial, administrative, educator or practitioner post, and roughly about 110,700 slots are to be projected.

Master of Science, Physician Assistant
Career: Physician Assistant

The individuals work closely and under the supervision of a physician. They are qualified to do tasks of nurses, a nurse practitioner and MDs. They are also allowed to assist during surgeries as well as diagnose and treat illnesses. The only significant variation between the degrees to become an MD and PA is the years of education and the independence which comes with it. The degree of masters in Science is currently high in demand.

Doctor of Veterinary (DVM OR VMD)
Career: Veterinarian

The same as humans, animals need medical attention as well. This is where the roles veterinarians come to play. A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) is an individual who is taught and trained to care for animals and all their health-related needs. This is a field that has been gradually growing, and with pet owners more educated and concerned, the demand is also rising steadily.

Bachelor of Science, Data Science
Career: Data Scientist

Students of Data Science work with collecting, analysing and organising the collected data. It is also required for them to know and learn programming languages and operate machines and data visualisation. This job can allow you to work with the government and large research facilities around the world.

Master of Science in Statistics
Career: Statistician

Good news for those who love math. The Master of Science in Statistics is an advanced degree in math, which involves working with data and applying solutions based on the findings. From big corporations to governments and research facilities, research and numbers are crucial. If this is something you are good at then, this might be the career path for you.

MS Speech-Language Pathology
Career: Speech-Language Pathologist

This degree is also connected to the world of medicine as it allows professionals to work one-on-one with patients and help with speech difficulties. This degree has made a surprising appearance on this list due to the growth in the Baby Boom population. Since there is an increase in the number of elderly people, more professionals are needed to help with language impairments and speech therapy.
